Senate: Trusteeship Council

Established in the aftermath of World War II under the provisions of Chapter XIII of the United Nations Charter, the Trusteeship Council represents a beacon of hope and commitment to international cooperation and solidarity. Its primary objective is to oversee the administration of trust territories and promote their advancement towards self-government or independence.

Throughout its existence, the Trusteeship Council has played a pivotal role in fostering decolonization, ensuring the protection of human rights, and promoting socio-economic development in territories under its trusteeship. By administering these territories in a manner that prioritizes the welfare and aspirations of their inhabitants, the Council embodies the UN’s commitment to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity across the globe.
